Current thoughts about education and technology

I believe that technology is very important in education and is useful for numerous things. I, personally, will not use a lot of technology in my classroom as I would like to teach 1st grade but I do think that all teachers should have some working knowledge of technology. In my future teaching career, I will be able to at least introduce computers and the basic knowledge of how they work to my students so they can write sentences and paragraphs and play educational games on them. This will help them be able to feel comfortable on a computer for they will need to use computers and technology for the rest of their school career and beyond. In our present world, technology is such an integrated part of society and much of our lives depends on being able to use the different options available. As an elementary teacher, I can at least introduce this concept to them.
